Workplace Giving Campaigns

Does your employer participate in workplace giving campaigns through United Way or Local Independent Charities of America? If so, you can designate LSC as a recipient.

If you would like to organize a workplace giving campaign involving LSC, we would be happy to assist you in planning an event and providing guest speakers. Please get in touch with Joyce Lupack for more information.


Matching Gifts

Many employers offer matching gift programs that double or even triple charitable donations made by their employees, and in some cases, match gifts made by retirees and spouses of employees. Employers may also match volunteer hours with corporate donations.

To find out if your company will match gifts to LSC, please check directly with your company’s HR department. They will provide a form that you can mail or email to LSC for us to complete and return.

Do you have supplies, equipment, or other goods you don’t need? Take a look at our Wish List and consider making an in-kind donation to LSC. All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Thank you for considering a stock donation to LSC. Any stock transferred to the LSC account is sold immediately and counted as fully tax-deductible.


To transfer stock to our account:

Electronic Transfer

If your stock is held in a brokerage account, your broker may transfer your gift electronically. Your accountant will need the following information: DTC #: 0164 Account Name: Legal Services for Children Account #: 8196-8674 Brokerage: Charles Schwab, San Francisco, CA When your stock is received in the LSC account, unfortunately, we do not receive any information that identifies you as the donor. Therefore we kindly ask that you alert us in advance about the stock and number of shares you plan to donate. You may notify us by emailing Joyce Lupack, Development Director, at joyce@lsc-sf.org or calling at (415) 780-6345. Be sure to provide your name and address so that we may acknowledge your gift with a tax deductible receipt.


Physical Delivery

If you hold the security’s paper certificate, you may mail it without any endorsement or assignment to: Legal Services for Children Attn: Joyce Lupack 870 Market Street, Suite 356, San Francisco, CA 94102. In a separate envelope, mail a signed stock power form for each gift — except for your signature, the stock power form should be blank — and a letter stating your intention to make a gift of the securities to Legal Services for Children. Stock power forms can be obtained from your bank or broker. Please sign the stock power exactly as your name appears on the stock certificate. When filing your taxes for the donation year, please note our EIN Tax Identification Number is 51-0169463.


Estate and planned gifts, including wills, trusts, retirement plans, and insurance policies, are a great way to ensure that LSC can continue protecting the rights of youth in the Bay Area.

Be sure to consult an attorney or financial services expert when preparing legal documents for a legacy gift. Our full legal name is Legal Services for Children and our Tax Identification Number is 51-0169463.
