Need To Stay At An Emergency Shelter?
If things are really tense or scary at home, and staying with friends or relatives is not an option, sometimes it is safer to stay at an emergency or "runaway" shelter. These shelters provide housing for youth for a limited amount of time.
- WHAT: Depending on where you live, there may be some agencies in your area that can offer you a place to stay overnight. Most shelters will not let you stay more than a few days without contacting your parents.
- HOW: Call the shelter in your county and talk with them about your situation. The staff at the shelters will talk with you and let you know what options may be available to you.
