Staff Social Worker
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
LSC seeks a full-time social worker to provide direct services to children and youth. The social worker will provide culturally appropriate psychosocial assessment, crisis intervention, case management, client advocacy, and short-term counseling services to minor clients and their families, as part of an attorney-social worker team. This position will also serve Chinese youth through LSC’s Detained Immigrant Children Project (DICP) which provides legal and social work services to unaccompanied immigrant children detained in Northern California by the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). The social worker will participate in agency outreach and education efforts and he or she will be expected to develop positive relationships with other youth serving providers. This position reports directly to the Clinical Director and LCSW clinical supervision will be provided.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- MSW from an accredited school of social work
- Experience working with children, youth and families and serving immigrant communities
- Strong clinical skills and a commitment to providing culturally competent services
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure and in crisis situations
- Well-organized, motivated, creative, independent, and effective in a team-oriented environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literate (Microsoft)
- Fluency and experience providing direct services in Mandarin and English.
FULL TIME SALARY: $46,000 Starting Salary (+ Dependent on Experience) & Excellent Benefits
