Legal Services for Children (LSC) is seeking a candidate to sponsor an application for Skadden and Equal Justice Works fellowships to begin work in the fall of 2011. LSC is open to all potential project ideas for this fellowship cycle and encourages candidates to submit application materials that outline projects they feel would fit well within the organization’s mission and the candidate’s background.
Legal Services for Children was founded in 1975 as one of the first non-profit law firms to provide free direct legal and social services to children and youth. LSC uses an attorney-social worker team model to assist at-risk youth in the Bay Area who need to access the legal system to stabilize or improve their lives. LSC’s mission is to empower children and youth by increasing their active participation in making decisions about their own lives.
In order to be eligible for the fellowship, candidates must either graduate from law school in 2011 or complete a judicial clerkship in 2011. Bilingual/bicultural candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
Interested candidates should send a cover letter that includes potential project ideas and resume outlining their experience working on behalf of children and youth. Please fax or mail cover letter and resume by June 30, 2010 to:
